At Graeme Hayes Real Estate (GHRE), we take your privacy seriously. This page explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and who we share it with. Our full Privacy Policy (document 3.6.2) is available on request.
From 1 July 2026, GHRE is a reporting entity under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (Cth). This means we have legal obligations to verify the identity of vendors and buyers in property transactions.
What we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for us to do our job. This may include:

You are free to browse our website without providing any personal information. Where you contact us or engage in a transaction, we will ask only for what we need.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where necessary. This includes:

Our AML/CTF compliance platform provider, who conducts identity verification on our behalf. This provider may store data outside Australia. They will provide you with their own privacy disclosure at the point of verification

Other third-party service providers who support our business operations, selected for their privacy and security standards

AUSTRAC or other authorities, where we are required by law to report
How we store your information
Your information is held securely in our document management systems. AML identity records are retained for a minimum of seven years as required by law. We take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorised access or misuse.
Your rights
You have the right to access and correct the personal information we hold about you. If you have a question, concern or complaint about how we handle your information, please contact us — we aim to respond within seven days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
